

Jose A. Ramirez was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Jose will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
He was the son of Jesus and Hipolita Ramirez. Jose was born in Los Angeles, CA but grew up in Juarez, Mexico. Ultimately, he married to Teresa Palomares in Torreon, Mexico.
Jose was raised with four siblings. He had three sisters, Francisca, Enriqueta and Raquel and one brother Guadalupe.
As a young man, Jose was curious about the world around him and was often eager to explore it. In his spare time he liked viewing sports.
Always considered a “good” friend to those he knew, Jose enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during his lifetime. Later in life, he became friends with Pablo Medrano and Tomas Pacas.
Jose was committed to making his family happy and worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs.
Fortunately, Jose enjoyed what he did for a living and always showed a strong work ethic. He worked diligently and in his primary occupation as a for 40 years. Jose always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
His favorite pursuits were reading the newspaper, the family newletters, entitled "Teresita" and coviewing and colecting family photographs. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others.
Jose was always a sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite events whenever he had the chance to do so. Tops on his list were soccer, boxing, and baseball.
Jose enjoyed time away on vacations. It was a chance for him to renew, to relax, and to experience new things. Favorite vacations included visiting family in Juarez, Chih., and Durango, Mexico.
His retirement finally arrived in 1987 and he enjoyed spending time with different members of his family.
Jose passed away peacefully on June 9, 2012 at home in Whittier, California and was surrounded by his family members. Jose fought a brave battle against prostate cancer and heart problems.
He is survived by his children Jesse, Rosie, Martha, Danny and Mayela.; his 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Services were held at Funeraria del Angel in Montebello. Jose was laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Montebello, California.
Simply stated, Jose was a simple man, a family man and a kind person. He was an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives.
Jose leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Jose Arroyo Ramirez.
