

SFC (Ret) Beverley Joyce Broadwater Kiewel Born January 4 1955 Died November 19 2014 Beverley was born in Homestead FL, grew up in Marietta, GA, and graduated from Wheeler High School. She earned an Operating Room Technician Certification at Dekalb Technical School in 1974 and a Health Records Certification in 2012. She was on Active Duty with the US Army for over 12 years and in the US Army Reserve the rest of her career; for a total of 30 years. She began her career as an Air Traffic Controller/Tower Operator, she was personnel and records administration NCO, Individual Training NCO, and Mobilization NCO. She was an active member in her churches, the Christian Motorcyclist Association, Patriot Guard Riders, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and Ladies Axillary. She was selected to be the Alabama Representative to the VFW National Committee of Women Veterans, 2011-2013. She is preceded in death by her parents Alton Lester Broadwater and Catherine Augusta (Pond) Broadwater. Survived by Husband Martin J Kiewel, Bessemer, AL, two step children Shawn M (Barbara) Kiewel, , Suzanne E (Jeffrey) Thompson; Three Sisters: Catherine S Broadwater (Carl) Christensen; Elizabeth I Broadwater (Walter) Howell; Cynthia A Broadwater Pinson; one granddaughter, Lilyth I Kiewel; nieces; Pia E Christensen, Elizabeth A Howell McCary, Tracey A Howell Maier, Donna M McNeil, Catherine A Pinson, Steven Pinson, Harley Pinson & a number of great nephews and nieces. Step-Mother Margaret Chance Gould Broadwater; two adopted siblings; Barry G Gould (Cathy) Broadwater, Tammy R Gould Broadwater (Dean) Martin; nephews; Christopher and Keith Gould Broadwater, Woody and Tucker Gould Broadwater Martin. Celebration service will be held at Rockco’s Funeral Home Chapel 12 December 2014 at 11:30 a.m. Followed by the Patriot Guard Riders escorting Beverley to the Alabama National Cemetery with a committal service time of 12:30 p.m. rendering of military honors.
