Claude Thomas Burke, of Birmingham, passed away on 12/1/2016 after a long illness. Born 2/18/1932, Tom served in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. After graduating from Auburn University as an accountant, he worked for many years at Cummins of Alabama. He is pre deceased by his parents William Arthur and Madge Burke. He is survived by: a sister - Mary Edna Green (Jack), a brother – Bill Burke. His children: Denise Shepherd (Mike), Melissa Emmons (Harold), Thomas Burke (Ashleigh), Kim Compton (David). His grandchildren: Lauren Honeycutt (Wade), Kristi Cunningham (Collins), Joshua Emmons, Amanda Biesecker (Matt), Jessica Garzarek (Michael), Zoe Burke, Eric Compton, and Alexander Compton. His great grandson: Luke Biesecker. Visitation will be 12/5/2016 at Rockco Funeral Home in Montevallo at 11:30 and the funeral will follow at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo at 1:15. Tom will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
