

Frances Elizabeth Anthony was born November 1, 1926 in Marvel, Alabama. She passed away peacefully at home on November 7, 2022. She was predeceased by her parents, Moman Leroy Anthony, Sr. and Myrtle Russell Anthony; and siblings, Leroy Anthony, Jr., Delmus Anthony, Russell Anthony (R.L.) and June Hadaway. She is survived by siblings, Geraldine "Jerry" Hicks and Charlotte Patrick, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends, who loved her dearly, and were dearly loved by her.
Frances attended Alabama College - now known as University of Montevallo - before working for a short time with Roden Coal Company in payroll. She later retired after being employed thirty-five years at the main office of Alabama Power in Birmingham, Alabama as assistant payroll supervisor.
Frances was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Birmingham, where she served in many capacities, including on the Board. Upon moving to Calera, she became a faithful member of Calera Methodist Church, serving on both church building committees (the one on Highway 25 and the other on Highway 31). For the last few years, though incapacitated, Frances has been a member of Shiloh Methodist Church.
Frances was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, and watching Alabama football. She will certainly be missed by all who knew her, and will be fondly remembered for her gentle spirit and her generosity which knew no boundaries.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Rockco Funeral Home, 3715 Highway 25, Montevallo, Alabama 35115.
