George Stephen "Steve O" Barnes

Steve is survived by a son Joshua Barnes and his daughter Racheal (Lee) Allen of Longview, TX; two sisters, Dianne (Terry) Snow of Clanton, AL and Marsha (Dave) Patrick of Madison, AL; seven grandsons, Hunter & Braden Barnes, Zachary & Jacob Kraus, Cayden Allen, Connor & Landon Ferguson; nieces Kim Proctor, Amy (Scott) Phillips, Kristyn (Kenton) Brazelle and nephew Brandon Patrick; great nephews Ty Proctor and Brady Phillips and great nieces Ashlyn Proctor, Cassidi & Brooklyn Phillips plus several close cousins. He was also survived by his faithful companion and singing partner, Levi, his beloved Shih Tzu.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Verna Barnes of Calera, AL; grandparents Bruce & Leila Tyree and Lera Barnes of Birmingham, AL.

Steve was born on June 27, 1956 in Birmingham, AL and attended Calera High School, Calera, AL. He was a music enthusiast and NASCAR fan. He loved to sing and he loved Talladega Super Speedway where he enthusiastically cheered for #88, Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon, Friday, April 15, 2016 with service at 2:00 pm at Rockco Funeral Home, Montevallo, AL. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens, Calera, AL.
