James Edgar Anderson. James Edgar, known by family and friends as Johnny was born on March 20, 1944, passed away on February 12, 2026, at the age of 81. Residing in Clanton, Alabama, James was a faithful, generous, hard-working, patient, and wise individual who touched the lives of many.

Johnny grew up in Montevallo, Alabama, where he attended Montevallo Schools. His early years laid the foundation for a life characterized by dedication and service.

He proudly served his country in Vietnam with the Army, demonstrating his commitment and bravery. Following his military service, Johnny dedicated over 30 years to working on the railroad, a testament to his hard-working nature.

Johnny was married to Deborah for 37 beautiful years, a union that was blessed with a loving family. He is survived by his two sons, Jason Anderson and Rick Anderson, and his daughter Amy Brown, married to Robert. His legacy continues through his three grandsons, Edwin, Dustin, and Cody, and his two great-granddaughters, Astrid and Olivia.

He had a strong love for the Lord.

In his personal life, Johnny had a passion for gardening, raising livestock, and a love for dogs, pursuits that brought him joy and tranquility.
