Jewel Ray Winslett, age 77, of Montevallo passed away at his home on September 13, 2014. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Jewel and Jessie Winslett; and his brothers, Leroy and Jimmy Winslett. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Bobbie Dee Winslett; his daughter, Ranay Lucas; his son, Greg Winslett. He is also survived by his sister “Sister” Hyde and his brother, Billy Winslett along with five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Ray was a retired electrician and also served several years in the U. S. Army. He was a devoted family man and enjoyed puzzles, carpentry, spray painting, Braves baseball and Auburn football. There will be a visitation for Ray on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, from 10 - 11 AM at Bible Baptist Church in Wilton, Alabama with his funeral service to follow at 11 AM.
