

Jimmie Lee Helton age 78 of Randolph, AL went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 5, 2014 in Tuscaloosa, AL. Jimmie retired from the Army after 22 years of service. In his military career he served in Korea, Vietnam and three tours in Germany. He loved his country very much and was a highly decorated officer. Mr. Helton volunteered his time performing various mission works at Oneida Baptist Institute in Oneida, KY. He was a member of Thomas Mill Baptist Church. Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Eunice Helton; sister, Martha Ann Niswander; grandsons, Jeremy Helton and Tyler Parker. His surviving relatives include a loving wife of 58 years Ruby Helton; son, Joey Helton (Shannon); daughters, Debbie Wolter (Jerome) and Sharon Helton; brother, Floyd Helton (Lindy); sisters, Beth Braughton and Brenda Cummings (David); eight grandchildren, Mary Grace Helton, Colby Helton, Erica Foxhall, Amanda Smith, Adam Doyle, Hannah Wolter, Holli Wolter, and Maggie Wolter; eight great-grandchildren, Colburn, Ava-Berlin, Andrew, Will, Kinsley, Gavin, Kylie, and John. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel from 6 to 8PM for friends. Jimmie’s funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 1:30PM in Rockco Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tom Jordan and Bro. Johnye Horton to officiate. A committal service with full military honors will follow at the Alabama National Cemetery at 2:45PM. Pallbearers are Don Lawrence, Bill Glosson, Randy Blake, John Blake, John Jackson, and Chris Foxhall.
