John "Jive" Mosley Battle

Mr. Battle served our country in the Air Force from June 1951 to June 1955. He worked at Westinghouse for 30 years and was the Treasurer of the IBEW Union before ultimately retiring in 1983. John was also a Little League coach for 10 years and became the President of the Little League. He loved quail and rabbit hunting, fishing, Alabama Football, gardening and traveling.

John is survived by his children, John Battle (Dawn) and Tina Walker; and grandchildren, Trey Murphy (Jackie) and Rachel Battle.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Anne Battle; parents; and siblings, Jack Battle, Vera Strickland, Henry (P.D.) Battle, James Battle, Russell Battle, Ed Battle, Elizabeth Dunnaway, and Ralph Battle.

A visitation for John will be held Wednesday, December 16, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home, 3715 Highway 25, Montevallo, Alabama 35115. A funeral service will occur on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 1:00 PM with the burial following at Six Mile Baptist Church, 182 West Ashby Road, Brierfield, Alabama 35035.
