John Weldon Galloway

John Weldon Galloway was born on July 17, 1932 to Oliver Orlando Galloway and Nell Bunn Galloway, of Dogwood, Alabama. John is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Sarah Frances Clark Galloway. He is also survived by his two sons, John Michael Galloway (Mike) and Heath Newman Galloway; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Lynn Galloway; two granddaughters, Sarah Annabelle Ray (Anna) and Jenna Elizabeth Guy; and great granddaughter, Peyton Mae Guy.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Nell Galloway; one brother and two sisters.

John was a long-time resident of Montevallo, Alabama for over 60 years where he was business owner for over 45 years.

A natural born athlete, John excelled in baseball. He was a graduate of Montevallo High School where he played baseball for all four years. Later he was actively involved and was a supporter of the Montevallo Dixie Youth Baseball. John enjoyed watching all baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves. He was also a big Alabama fan.

He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially with his grandchildren and great grandchild. He was a happy man who wanted and needed very little. He was a giving and caring person especially to his sons and family. He was well loved and will be missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Montevallo High School Baseball Team in memory of John Weldon Galloway.

A visitation for John will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Rocko Funeral Home, 3715 Hwy 25, Montevallo, AL 35115. A graveside service will be held for family only.
