Lavenia Scurlock, age 93, of Montevallo, Alabama passed away on April 24, 2018. She worked in Dr. Hubbard's medical office in Montevallo for many years. She was a member of Montevallo First Baptist Church. In her younger years, she enjoyed flowers and gardening. She also was gifted with needlework, making afghans and quilts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis "Junior" Scurlock; son, William Grady; daughter, Frances "PeeWee" Curren; and all eight of her siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Wester (Jerry) of Trussville; grandchildren, Heath Wester (Misha), Kurt Wester, Larry Hayes, and Barry Hayes; great-grandchildren, Brooks & Bryant Wester, Logan Startley, and Emily Harris; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Montevallo City Cemetery.
