Mary Opal Williams

Mary Opal Williams went home to be with the Lord at the age of 93 on December 19, 2018. She leaves behind her daughters, Brenda Jackson (Lamar), Cheryl Ann Perry (Bobby), Teresa Renee Bird (Douglas), and Sally Deneise Fondren (Alan); several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was dearly loved by her family.

Mary Opal Williams was born September 20, 1925. Opal was devoted to the Lord and her family. All who met her truly saw her fierce faith in the Lord and all He was doing and would do in her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard Underwood and Sally Parks; husband, Howard Leon Williams; two brothers, William (Bill) A. Underwood and Richard Austin Underwood; a sister, Glynnis Hoyt; her sons, Clarence (Buddy) Williams, Michael Stacy Williams, and Keith Williams; daughter Linda Sue Jackson; and grandson, Howard (Howie) Williams.

A celebration of her life will be held Friday, December 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Rockco’s Funeral Home in Montevallo, Alabama with Brother Stan Dawson officiating. The family will receive guests at 9:00 a.m. A graveside service will immediately follow the service at Cahaba Valley Baptist Church, Brierfield, Alabama.
