A resident of Montevallo, Al. and the daughter of Manley and Maude Dawson. She attended Gorgas HS and graduated from the Univ. of Al. She received a master’s degree from Iowa State Univ. She worked in education for 41 years, first as a teacher and then for the state as District Supervisor of Home Economics in Northwest Al. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Montevallo and had resided at Knowlwood Asst. Living for the past 3 years. She is survived by 5 nieces and nephews: Ann Dawson, Alabaster; Gilene Dawson, Homewood; Charles Frew (Kathi), Huntsville; David Frew, Atlanta; and Suzanne Frew, Ca. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 11:00AM at First United Methodist Church, Montevallo, with visitation beginning at 10:00. Burial will follow at Berry Cemetery in Berry, Al. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to First UMC, Montevallo.
