Patricia Ann Shelton

Patricia Ann Shelton left this world on Friday, October 22, 2021. Our beloved Patricia was born on February 21, 1940, and bravely followed her own path for 81 years. She is preceded in death by her two sons, Thomas and Greg, and the love of her life, her husband James Olin Shelton. Patricia is survived by daughters Belinda and Theresa, stepson Terry, numerous grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, all of whom will always remember their Nonny as a true matriarch who sought her God with Amazing Grace.

Known lovingly as Patsy Cline, Patricia was a glamour queen who favored oversized sunglasses, blonder-than-blonde hair, and leopard prints. Her wanderings took her to Germany to explore, to the casinos to play sharp card games, and to the smoky mountains to enjoy technicolor sunsets, all with her soulmate James. She was uniquely spirited, full of life and brimming with fire, and she would sometimes favor family gatherings with her very own full-volume renditions of Patsy Cline’s “Crazy.”

Patricia was partial to chocolate milk and cookies, and daytime television dramas. She laughed- really, truly laughed- with her family, adored kissing fat baby cheeks when great grandchildren visited, and surrounded us all with love, Chanel No. 5. , and cigarette smoke. And that really captures the essence of Nonny- she lived this life to the very fullest, never compromised, and embraced the crazy of loving us all.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at 9:30 am at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo), 3715 Hwy 25 S Montevallo, AL 35115. The funeral service will be Sunday, October 24, 2021 at 10:00 am at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo) with the burial following at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Maylene, AL 35114.
