Rickey Dale Giles, age 53, of Maylene, Alabama passed away on August 13, 2017. Rickey was an outdoorsman who loved to fish. He also loved to play pranks and pick at the people he loved. He loved his family. He doted on his wife, and his son was his pride and joy. He was positive and upbeat, and was always offering wisdom and encouragement. He was honest to a fault, and would tell you what he thought whether you liked it or not.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Martis Giles; mother, Mary Holcombe Thompson; and step-father, Donald Thompson. Left to treasure his memory are his wife, Martha Giles; son, Joseph Martis “Joey” Giles; sister, Vickie Benton (Phillip); brother, Mark Giles (Sandie); brothers-in-law, Joseph Lutz (Debbie), Frank Lutz (Sharon) and Keith Lutz; sister-in-law, Jennifer Lutz (Jay); a host of nieces and nephews ; and his close friend, Floyd Boothe.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). His funeral service will be on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo), with burial to follow at Macedonia Cemetery.
