Ronnie Joe Pennington

Ronnie Joe Pennington, age 66, of Thorsby, Alabama passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022. Ronnie was born December 8, 1955 in Helena, Alabama, to Aubia Ray Pennington and Nellie Faye Simmons Pennington. Ronnie was a carpenter by trade. He enjoyed fishing and Auburn football. He was a wonderful husband, father and PawPaw and his favorite times were spent cooking for his family.

Ronnie was preceded by his mother, Nellie Faye Pennington; father, Aubia Ray Pennington; step-mother, Louise Pierce Pennington; infant brother; and older brothers, Terry Pennington and Jerry Pennington.

He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Patricia "Patty" Pennington; children, Jennifer Lucas (Stacy), Joseph Pennington, Ronnie Joe "R. J." Pennington (Stephanie), Johnathan Johnson (Julie) and Daniel Johnson (Ashley); 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Ricky Pennington (Connie); aunt, Gracie Hamrick (Buddy); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo) at 6:00 PM, with a viewing to begin at 5:00 PM and a reception to follow until 8:00 PM. Please dress comfortably in memory of Ronnie.
