Sandra Lou Miller

Sandy was born on July 29, 1948 to Leo and Lucille Crotty of Phoenicia, New York. She was a graduate of Onteora Central High School, Boiceville, NY and the Medical University of South Carolina where she earned her Records Administrator degree. She married Harry W. Miller, Jr. on February 24, 1968 before he enlisted in the United States Air Force. They started their family at Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, New Mexico and they relocated several times in twenty years, ultimately settling in Jemison, AL to be Mimi to her favorite granddaughter. Sandy continued to work into 2026 as a proofreader for court reporters.

Sandy was a consummate Air Force wife, and had a unique sense of humor. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who love her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Beverly Schmiedel; and her brother, Ralph Crotty. She is survived by her husband, Harry W. Miller, Jr.; daughter, Elizabeth Miller (James Gaiewski); son, Leo Miller (Somer); granddaughter, Lily Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the caring staffs of Baptist Medical Center East and Montgomery Cancer Center.

A private remembrance will be held at her home with close family.
