Shelva Jean Jordan

Shelva Jean Jordan, age 78, of Alabaster, Alabama passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022. Shelva grew up in Green Pond, Alabama, one of three children to Lela Mae and Jesse Lightsey. She met the love of her life, Homer Jordan, and it wasn't long before they married in 1962. They lived in several places as she dedicated her life to her pastor husband, son and grandchildren. She was the epitome of a Christian woman as described in Proverbs 31. Shelva loved to be outside, especially gardening, and her plants were too afraid of her not to grow.

She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Homer Jordan; son, Travis Jordan (Rhonda); grandchildren, Karin Reeves (Jayme) and Andrea Stephenson (Colin); great-grandchildren, Addyson, Benton, Beau, Everly, & Waylon Stephenson and Aileen Reeves; a sister; a brother; a sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

A committal service for Shelva will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, Alabama 35115.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial donations be directed to the Shelby County Humane Society.
