Thomas "Opie" and I worked together for over 30 years fulltime in the Guard, AGR, and we both had a background in Corrections. He always displayed the Air Force Core Values: Integrity, Service Before Self, and Excellence. Please accept my deepest and most sincere sympathy, to you Michelle, your children, grandchildren, and all of your family at your incredible loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers. From the moment I came to live at the Dunn’s, a nervous teenager from Norway,
Dale was there. I was lucky to come to a loving family, Jadell, Clifford, Michele, Amanda (Taylor wasn't born yet) and Dale. It was love all over.
Dale became my American big Brother, even though I was just going to stay for a while. He could drive me here and there, talk and laugh with me. He could listen when I was frustrated or sad and he could give me good advice.
I am so blessed for having a brother just like him, for his sweetness, kindness and understanding. I am glad I could spend some time with him while I lived there and I am filled with love for him and his family.

Much love from Mette, his "little Sister" in Norway.

Dale was the definition of professionalism. I worked at the guard for 16 years and Dale was there most of that time. He was responsible for helping to train majority of the security forces there today. Dale will be missed but his memory will pass on through the knowledge the he bestowed on others. To the family I am sorry for your loss. He was a great guy and a asset to the United States Air Force.

I coached Dale 40 years ago. No one tried harder everyday to give their best. He is the kind of person who makes me proud to say, " I had the honor and privilege to coach and see him develop into a special man, husband, father, and most importantly a person who lived his Christian faith.
