
Thomas "Tom" Joseph Wodtke, of Wilsonville, Alabama went to be with the Lord on March 11, 2022 at the age of 66. Tom was born January 20, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio. The family later moved and his formative years were spent in Lexington, KY. Tom became a life long Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force. He worked in the Security Service as a Cryptoanalyst. He went on to become a small business owner, working as a private detective and videographer. Tom was outgoing and enjoyed serving in church. He especially loved teaching in the adult Sunday School class. In recent years, he became disabled due to a chronic health condition. He was a beloved husband, dad and grandpa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Helen Wodtke. Tom is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kathy Wodtke; daughters, Barbara Thompson (Richard) and Pamela Motte (Jason); grandchildren, Mark Lowry, David Lowry, Sarah Lowry, Rachel Lowry, Abigail Motte, Natalie Motte and Whitney Thompson; sisters, Sue Ann Arnett and Nancy Jelinek (Mark); brothers, Michael Wodtke and James Wodtke; many nieces and nephews; and his special cat, Levi.
He will be missed and never forgotten.
A visitation for Tom will be held Friday, March 18, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo) with his funeral service to begin at 11:00 AM. A committal service will follow at 12:30 PM at Alabama National Cemetery. Pastor David Peacock will officiate.
