

MSG William Todd Snyder, age 61, of Montevallo, Alabama passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 20, 2025. He was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on August 8, 1963 and moved to Montevallo, Alabama in 1995.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cheryl Snyder; two sons, Chris Barker (Jennifer) of Alabaster, and Will Snyder of Birmingham; grandson, Lucas Barker; sister, Cindy Snyder McCollum (JC); niece, Courtney McCollum Culbreth (Harrison); nephew, Connor McCollum; great-nephew, Ace Culbreth; mother-in-law, Judy Dempsey; brother-in-law, Jay Dempsey; numerous aunts, uncles and extended family; and countless friends.
He was a dedicated husband and father who devoted his life to serving his country. He spent 25 years in the United States military and retired from the Alabama Army National Guard with the rank of Master Sergeant on May 31st, 2023. Todd was also a member of Central Masonic Lodge #70.
He spent his free time doing things he truly loved such as hunting, gunsmithing and living out his dream of being a rock star by playing open mics and small shows around the state. He started playing guitar when he was 11 years old and held on to that love for his entire life. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his grandson, Lucas. He loved to make people laugh, even if he was the only one laughing.
A visitation for Todd will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo), 3715 Highway 25, Montevallo, AL 35115, with a funeral service to begin at 12:00 PM. The committal service with military honors will follow at 1:15 PM at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, Alabama 35115. Following the committal service friends and family are invited to Sage Restaurant in Calera, AL for a reception. Preacher Keith Jones will officiate.
