

Abner McGehee Cauthen, 76, of Montgomery, Alabama suddenly passed away on January 17, 2024. He gave himself the ultimate birthday present by going to Heaven to be with his beloved wife, Dorothy Ellen Cauthen.
Abner was a devoted husband and loving father. His children, Vicky Knighten (Johnny), Tommy Cauthen (Ashley), and Tammy Thomas (Shaun) will cherish all the memories he has given them throughout his life.
Abner was a retired engineer for BellSouth Telephone Company. He also served his country as a Sergeant in the Air Force Reserves for six (6) years, being honorably discharged in 1972. Abner enjoyed gardening, fishing and being with his family.
Abner was survived by his cherished canine companion, Peaches; three (3) children and six (6) grandchildren; Amber Haney (Chris), Jayne Sereneck, Michelle Smith (Cody), Niki Bynog (Johnathon), Shelby Hunter (Sam) and Kayley Knighten, nine (9) Great-Grandchildren, MaryEllen, Samantha, Abel, Harper, Abigail, Isabelle, Lain, Emmalynne, and Dalelynn.
Abner was also survived by his two sisters Linda Kyser (Ben) and Anita Mays (Jim), who he loved with all his heart, and numerous other family members.
Abner was a man of integrity and a firm believer in Christ. His departure was a shock and is felt deeply by his entire family.
Pallbearers will be: Cody Smith, Gene Beck, Johnathon Bynog, Sam Hunter, Jonathan Phillips, and Mike Jordan.
