Abner Ray Gary Jr.

Gary, Abner Ray, Jr., age 90 passed away on April 12, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Annie Nell Whitener Gary, a son, Ben Gary, granddaughter, Shannan Davis and a great grandson, Joshua Davis. He is survived by his daughter, Donna Sue (Richard) Davis, daughter-in-law, Betty Hughes Gary; granddaughters, Tracie (Archie) Smith, Tonja (Cory) Craig, Ashley (Dan) Meldrum; grandson, Todd Davis and 9 great-grandchildren and 5 brothers & sisters. Ray served in WWII, he was in 3 major battles, including the Battle of the Bulge. He was in the 87th Division of Pattons 3rd Army that liberated Paris. He graduated from Auburn University in 1948. Ray retired from the Food and Drug Administration in 1985. He was a member of Eastmont Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eastmont Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am EST on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Morris Baptist Church in Morris, Ga. with Rev. Michael Northcutt officiating.
