Alberta Drayton

Alberta Drayton, aged 99, passed away on May 1, 2024, in Fayetteville, Georgia. She was born on July 24, 1924. Alberta is survived by her son, Arthur Jr. (Mildred) of Fayetteville, GA, granddaughters Angenique of Austell, GA, and Lakecia (Alton Sr.) Pettway of Jefferson, GA, step grandsons Daryl (Mia) Skipwith of McDonough, GA, Christopher (Ke'Anna) Skipwith of Laurel, MD, great grandchildren Alyssa, Alton Jr., and Aiden Pettway, Jaden and Kennedi Skipwith, Theodore Skipwith.

Alberta was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Rebecca Williams Paul, and siblings James "Bill" Paul, Henry Paul, Fred (Mary Alice Shaver) Paul, Jenny "Lil' Jenny" Mae Paul (Winston Kirkland), Felix "Preacher" (Agnes Hawkins) Paul, and Georgia Mae Paul (James Henderson). She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Drayton Sr.

A celebration of life church service for Alberta will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, 435 Ryan Rd., Pike Road, AL 36064. A graveside will follow at Alabama Heritage Cemetery, 10505 Atlanta Hwy., Montgomery, AL 36117.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Alberta's memory may be made to Drayton Family Scholarship.

Flowers should be sent prior to 5/11 (Saturday) to Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd., Montgomery, AL 36109. Note: Please plan ahead for deliveries during Mother's Day weekend.
