Barbara Jo Barnwell

Barbara Jo Barnwell, age 77, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Sunday, April 17, 2022. Barbara was born November 19, 1944 in Chilton County, Alabama to Leon Melton and Eula Mae Day Melton. "Tiny" was preceded in death by her husband David M. Barnwell, her son Wendell L. Edwards, her parents, and her siblings O'Dell "Buddy" Melton, Eleon Melton, Violet Langston, Marie "Joree" Lucas, Tressa Daughdrill, and Ann Edwards.

She is survived by her children Linda J. Wooten (Tommy), Kenneth O. Edwards, and K. Leane Edwards; her grandchildren T. R. Wooten, Crystal Luschen, Colton Edwards, Caleigh Edwards and Casey Edwards; great grandchildren Amara Luschen, Jaxson Luschen and Reagan Luschen; and her siblings Jeanette Deason and Becky McDaniel as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Barbara was always moving and her high energy was complimented by her inquisitive mind and her thirst to learn new things. She learned about metal fabrication on the floor of a factory and became a draftsman who created the drawings for the buildings her company produced. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, woodworking, flower arranging, cross stitch and crocheting. Tiny created jewelry and other artistic items. She delighted in the preschoolers in her church, Valley Park Baptist Church, where she had worked in the nursery. She will be missed by all who knew her.

A visitation for Mrs. Barnwell will be held Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 1:30 PM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 2:30 PM. Services will conclude with a burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Jim Wilson officiating.
