Bernard J. "Joe" Haney (Ret. CMSgt, USAF), died peacefully Wedesday, July 7, 2010 at a local hospital. He was born October 12, 1920 in Allentown, PA. He served during World War II in the Pacific Theater and around the world during his 27 year career in the United States Air Force. He was discharged in 1965 and went on to work for the Federal Prison System and State of Alabama. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Betty Bassett Haney, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of California. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Leak-Memory Chapel with Pastor Wade Rials officiating. Burial will be at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL at 2:00 PM with full military honors. Honorary pallbeares will be members of the Glory Men Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the servics at the funeral home.
