Bessie Lee Matheny Williams Finlayson passed away October 29, 2014. She was born in Notasulga, AL, but has been a long time resident of Montgomery, AL. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home from 10:00AM – 11:00AM, with graveside services beginning at 11:00AM in Greenwood Cemetery. She was the daughter of Rufus Lee and Bessie Harrington Matheny. Bessie Lee was preceded in death by her husbands, John Ellis Williams and John Morgan Finlayson and her four brothers, Willie, Carl, Winston and Howard Matheny. She is survived by her son, Warren “Butch” Williams (Ann); two grandchildren, Laura Williams Ellis (Jeff) and Ryan Williams (Valorie); five great grandchildren, Emilee, Sara Grace, and Elizabeth Ellis of Wetumpka and Jonah and John Morgan Williams of Montgomery; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Larry May, Tommy Whitman, Autry May, Jack Finlayson, Mike Matheny, and Tom Matheny. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Presbyterian Children’s Home in Talladega or the charity of your choice.
