Betty Jo Mims

Betty worked for her family as a homemaker from 1974-1989 before going on to work for Hager Hinge from 1990-2001. She loved to attend her church, Davenport Church of Christ, and served her community as the local Avon lady.

She loved her church family and always tried to live her life in accordance with God's will. She also dearly loved her three children.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Edward Mims; her parents, Hugh and Myrstis Cargile; and her siblings, Jerry Cargile, Mat Lou Money, and Shirley Kendrick.

Donations may be made in Betty's memory to Davenport Church of Christ.

She is survived by her children, Sheila Perry (Scott), Robert Holyfield (Connie), and John Holyfield; her grandchildren, Lindsay Holyfield Grasser, Amber Holyfield, Jackson Penso, Allie Holyfield, and Robert Holyfield; her great-grandchildren, Nate Holyfield and Vera Holyfield; and her siblings, Katie Dogget (Clyde) and Ricky Cargile (Ann).

A visitation for Betty will be held Sunday, March 29, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109. A graveside committal service will follow at 2:30 PM at Letohatchee Cemetery, 474 Cemetery Road, Letohatchee, AL 36047.
