I worked with Wayne at ECI for 12years and he was my lead engineer for many customers. We are so sorry  and my heart is broken and will always have a scar until I see him again ! He worked with me up to this unfortunate passing . He was an unbelievable human being, who would give you the shirt off his back . He never met a stranger! That’s Wayne .

It was such a pleasure caring for this sweet man. Thank you Mrs. Rhonda for allowing me to be a part of his journey. Mr. Wayne and you all hold a special place in my heart and memories.  Your family is  in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear about Wayne. I always smiled when I saw he was calling me. I knew there would be a good story or a funny phrase. We shared photos of our gardens and our dogs. He was always talking about his wife, his garden, or his dogs. I remember when we travelled for a customer visit, and he had been staying at that hotel on a regular basis. Every single staff member there that saw him greeted him with a huge smile and called him by name. He had such an effect on people. He will be so missed.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Billy.  But, have been friends with his wife Rhonda for years.  And, I can honestly say that I have never seen her look so happy.  Every photo that I saw of them she was glowing.  He must have been an amazing man.  I am so sorry Rhonda.  I don't have the words to express how sorry I am.  Praying for healing and peace and God's arms around you.  Praying for you and his family and friends.

I will always remember him, thanks so much for your friendship and support.

I want to wish Wayne's family and friends my condolences.  Oddly enough we never met - only through weekly calls at work.  We always had oud our side conversations and joking around.  Especially his "accent" compared to a Canadian accent.  I know he was a good man and will be missed

Dearest Condolences to the entire Armstrong family. I met Wayne as a colleague through ECI. Wayne instantly became a brother that I never knew I had and it was always a pleasure whenever I could work with him. Wayne always had a way to make you feel good and leave you with a smile every time. My time knowing Wayne is short, only 9 years, but feels like I’ve know him for 20. I pray Wayne’s family find peace and comfort in knowing he is a man that made a positive impact in the world. I will miss my brother Wayne, may you rest in peace cowboy.

Wayne was one of those rare men who could fix just about anything with his hands and make people laugh without ever trying. It wasn’t often his intent — it was just who he was.

Our work together wasn’t always polished, but it always worked — because Wayne worked.

I didn’t have decades with him, just a handful of trips and projects. But the time we did have? It just fit. Things clicked. We got the job done, we hit our goals, and we enjoyed the ride while doing it.

He loved his garden, his tomatoes, and the kind of moonshine that could make you see the truth. On the road after a long day, when the job was done and the tools were packed, he’d grin and say, “My beer light’s on.”

And before he ever hung up the phone or walked away, he’d give that trademark send-off — “Roll Tide.” His devotion to Alabama was unshakable, just like his work ethic and his friendship.

The world’s a little quieter without that line, but I like to think somewhere up there, he’s got tomatoes in the sun, a good jar close by, and that same easy grin.

Until we meet again, Roll Tide, brother — you did it right when we were side by side.

I want to say that he was a great coworker during these three and a half years that I’ve been with the company, during which we worked together. He was always there, even when times were tough with the customer; always offering his support. Personally, he always helped me when I needed it.
I enjoyed listening to him talk about his dogs, tequila, and football. He was a kind and genuine person, and at work, a true professional.
I’ll also miss those moments when he greets me with “Hey Cowboy” when I’d call him on the phone, or when ask how he was doing he answer, “Living the Dream.” He will truly be missed.

I am a Yankee Work Colleague of Waynes'.  When we first met, there was a TV commercial showing how everyone in Alabama would greet each other, and say good-bye, with "ROLE TIDE".  I asked Wayne if that was actually a thing, he said it was and that started our tradition of starting and ending our phone calls and TEAMS meetings with "ROLL TIDE!"  

In the relatively short time I knew Wayne, he became a beloved friend.  He was a wonderful and generous person, with an infectious personality.  He often told me how he hit the jackpot when he married Rhonda.  I will miss my friend, and our conversations, dearly.  Thinking of him will always put a smile on my face.

Please accept my most sincere condolences; Wayne was called home way to soon.  May God's Grace be granted upon him.  Rest in Peace my friend, Rest in Peace.  ROLL TIDE!
