Daffodil, Night-blooming Cereus, Confederate Rose, Swamp Lily, Okra, Tomatoes, Butter Beans, Peas, Little Red's, Bent Tree, Love, Family, Inclusion, Faith, and on and on....Thank you .  We are blessed to be included. 

Miss Blanche and Mr. Tommy were two of the most precious people I’ve ever known. They loved sharing their blessings and were generous stewards of their land and resources.  They loved the Lord and honored Him by sharing His love with others. Miss Blanche radiated beauty, charm, and goodness.  So proud to have been able to call her and Mr. Tommy my friends and I know I’ll
see them again someday. 

Mrs. Champion and I had excercise classes together. We became really good friends. She was christian woman and an inspiration to me. Im really gonna miss our conversation and the time we spent together.  I am really gonna miss her.


Aunt Blanche was a great and loving person.she was a very strong christian.the kind with a lot of love.She will be missed greatly.

Mrs Champion told me that she was  on Earth for as long as God needed her to be here.  I was working outside today,when it occurred to me that God had called her home. He needed her to help tend his Heavenly garden. Can't think of a better place for her to be.

My prayers are with her family and friends. 



I will never forget the first time I talked to Blanche. I had sent her a letter trying to find out family tree information about my mother's family and Blanche called me the day she received the letter. Blanche gave me and my family the opportunity to meet many of our other cousins at the Floyd family reunions but even better, we got to know Blanche. What a warm, funny, sweet person she was. I loved the long-winded telephone chats she and I would have between her home in Alabama and mine in California. She always made us feel so welcome and we enjoyed some wonderful visits with her and Tommy.  I am hoping that some day we will meet again.

I had the pleasure of meeting cousin Blanche twice at her beautiful home while attending family reunions. I am so grateful to have some cuttings of her beautiful plants. One year she and Tommy took us to the Darien graveyard so I could see where my ancestors are buried. I feel so blessed to have met and visited with both she and Tommy. 

Blanche has a been a true spiritual inspiration and has made me feel like a beloved daughter again.  I am so blessed that Thornton and Tommy are second cousins and I got to bask in the love and joy Blanche and Tommy radiated.  She lovingly shared her wisdom, sweet and kind nature, not to mention myriad flower cuttings, her dried okra fronds, her frozen peas, butter beans, pies, cakes, and the fresh tomatoes, etc. from their garden,  Reds School House, It Don't Matter,  their pew at First Baptist and on and on.  We have been so lucky to have shared in just a bit of the love that Lesli and Tom and their families have enjoyed all their lives.   She sent us the following photo.  So like her.

Blanche and I bonded when we met at a Daffodil Garden Club meeting. She reached out to comfort me with phone calls snd several outings when  my husband died two years ago.
This Monday I noticed my first Daffodil had bloomed and was standing so tall and bright. It was a sweet reminder of the beautiful, Christian lady that Blanche was.  It was a comforting sign from God that she is  whole again  and at peace
When my prolific Swamp Lilies that Blanche shared with me  bloom later this year, I will remember Blanche for her own beauty and gracious spirit.
