

Walter Leslie Collier, age 82, of Pike Road, Alabama passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025. Buck was born in Montgomery, Alabama to Ruel and Rena Collier. Enlisting in the Air Force, he finished his high school requirements while in service. After serving his country, Buck settled into a career as a federal meat inspector. To take care of his family, he also worked as a meat cutter for several grocery stores. Active at Calvary Baptist Temple, he served as a head usher. Mr. Collier will be remembered for his love of fishing, but even more, for his love of his family.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Ruel and Rena Motarie Collier; his grandparents, Wiley and Nellie Farris; his brother, Wiley "Bud" Collier; his son, Jason Lee Nichols and his daughter-in-law, Angie Garmon Collier. Survivors include his beloved wife of 36 years, Dorothy E. Collier; his sons, Tracy Ruel Collier and ; his daughter, Vykki Collier Rowe (Joe David); and his grandchildren, Dallas Nichols, Evan Nichols, Victoria Garmon, Amanda Garmon Hogan (Jared), Joe David Rowe III (Rachael), Heather Michelle Browning (Russ), Alex Daniel Rowe (Ashley); and his great grandchildren, Raelyn Rowe, River Rowe, Sawyer Browning.
A friends and family visitation for Buck will be held Sunday, August 10, 2025 at 12:30 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 1:30 PM. Services will conclude with a family only committal in Greenwood cemetery.
