Carolyn Sue Baumgart Williams, age 78, entered into eternal rest on February 9, 2026. She was born on April 30, 1947, in Lawrence, Kansas and was raised in Malin, Oregon. She moved to Montgomery, Alabama in 1963, where she made her home for more than six decades.
Sue married the love of her life, Kenneth Williams, December 7, 1963. Their marriage was a testament to devotion and enduring love. Ken could do no wrong in Sue’s eyes, and she loved him more than we can measure in words. She cared for him faithfully and wholeheartedly, the very picture of a devoted and doting wife.
Sue was preceded in death by her loving parents, William and Lorraine Eleanor Baumgart, and her sister Betty. She is survived by her brother Robert and her sister Dorothy, both of Oregon.
Sue’s greatest joy in life was her family. She is lovingly remembered by her children:
• Randy Williams (wife Teri), his sons Ryan and his daughter Madison, and Tyler (wife Laura), Todd Richardson
• Kim Williams, and her children:
o Britteny Miles (husband Paul) and their children Tucker and Caroline
o Ashlie Parker (husband Adam) and their children Addy, Jack, Wes, and Greyson
o Meighan Perry Schultz (husband Jason) and their children Rowan and Leighton
o Hunter Perry (wife Madison): his sons Michael & Lawson, and their daughter Sarah Grace
Sue was one of four children and carried out her strong family values throughout her life. She loved working with children and dedicated much of her time to caring for and encouraging young people.
A devoted mother and grandmother best known as Mamaw to everyone, Sue was always present at her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and cheerleading competitions. If there was a game, recital, or event, she was there cheering the loudest. She especially treasured time spent with her daughter and granddaughters when “all the girls” were together.
Her home was her heart. Sue loved having a full house and was happiest when surrounded by family. During holidays and gatherings, she prepared the biggest and best meals, making sure no one was left hungry. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter, and love.
Sue had a strong personality and was never shy about sharing her opinion. Her strength, devotion, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured and the countless memories made around her table and in the stands of ball fields and gyms.
