Catherine Bolling Russell was born January 20, 1958. She passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 6, 2020. Cathi is preceded in death by both her parents, Roy Otis Russell, Jr. and Marietta Bolling Russell. She is survived by her sister, Ellen Russell-Hatfield.
Cathi was an Auburn graduate and an avid fan. Her diagnosis with MS altered her life but she faced its challenges with determined independence and her loving dogs by her side. Cathi’s friends meant the world to her and she worked hard at maintaining those.
The family would like to thank Dr. George Handey, Dr. Chris Leganke, Dr. Hamp Greene, the Montgomery Cancer Center, and Julee Rainer, her massage therapist, for their combined efforts as she navigated her journey with MS. Also, a special thanks to Rose Marie and Warner Floyd and Peggy Beaty for being consistent support to Cathi and her family.
Cathi will be laid to rest next to her maternal grandparents on Thursday, August 13, 2020 in a graveside service at 10:00 a.m. Cathi would want donations made to Basset Hound Rescue of Alabama (P. O. Box 936, Northport, AL 35746) or the charity of your choice.
