

Chuck retired from the Chevron Oil Company as an economic analyst. He served in the Army during WWII as a Staff Sergeant with the Headquarters Battery 1st Antiaircraft Artillery (Guided Missile) Battalion. Chuck was a member of University Church of Christ, Sta-Goners and Blue & Grey camping clubs, PM Chippers, and the Retired Men’s Club.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Coriene Beare Shaffer; children, Karla Boling, Terry (Lea) Shaffer; grandchildren, Shon (Kelly) Boling, Laret (Jeff) Casella, Ron (Joann) Boling, Nathan (Cheryl) Shaffer, Paden (Brittany); great-grandchildren, Alex, Alia, Makayla, Emily, Mariah, Finn; siblings, Opal Fae (Paxson) Gordon, Eleanor (Gene) Buxton, Rowena Reed; sisters-in-law Lucy Shaffer, Barbara (Lowell) Liedecke; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Russell Shaffer; son-in-law, Larry Boling; siblings Wrena Mae Knowles, Dean Shaffer; brothers-in-law, Frank Knowles and Jim Reed.
The visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM, Monday, January 4, 2016 at Leak Memory Chapel. There will be a visitation at 9:00 AM with the funeral service at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at the University Church of Christ followed by the burial at Greenwood Serenity Cemetery. Leak Memory Chapel is directing.
