
Early Wednesday morning, December 10, 2014, Cynthia Ann Deloney peacefully passed away after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel W. Deloney. She is survived by her mother, Ann M. Deloney, four siblings, four nieces, two nephews, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends and colleagues. Cindy was born on January 24, 1957 in Greensboro, Georgia. She grew up in Ozark, Alabama and graduated from Carroll High School in 1975. She attended the University of Alabama and graduated from Troy University with a degree in Special and Elementary Education. She earned a master’s degree in special education from Prairie View A&M University.
She began her career at Vivian B. Adams School in Ozark. She would later move to Katy, Texas and had a 26 year career with the Katy Independent School District. She spent her career working with special education students, specializing with students who had severe emotional disturbances. She touched countless lives of troubled and at risk students and was much respected as a gifted educator by all who worked with her.
Cindy had recently retired and moved back home to Alabama. She was excited to begin the next stage of her life when the Lord called her to teach her final lesson on this earth. Life is precious and fleeting. Embrace those you love and take no moment for granted. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
