

BAILEY, Daniel Anderson, a resident of Wetumpka, AL. died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on March 20, 2025, at the age of 88. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.A.(Bill) and Attie Bailey, and his loving wife Beuretta Bailey (Bea).
He is survived by his children, Cindy Howton (Geno), Rhoda Mintz (Stuart), Rhonda Cooper (Robert Wallace), Mike Bailey (Lauri), and Angie Sanford (Patrick). He was known as “Pawpaw” to 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and proudly served in the United States Army as a
Combat Medic Specialist.
He retired from the Montgomery County Board of Education after 38 years and served as President of Southern School Plant Management Association. He then worked with McKee & Associates and finished his work history with the Elmore County Sherriff’s Department in security.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Wetumpka where he served as a deacon for many years and was a member of the choir. He sang bass
in a gospel group in his younger days and loved all types of music especially gospel. He also served on the Southern Baptist Disaster Team traveling across the county helping those who had been impacted by all types of disasters.
He was a wonderful husband, father, and Pawpaw.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at First Baptist Church of Wetumpka on Friday, March 28, 2025. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. and the funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Reverand Clint Landry officiating. Burial to follow at Pine View Memorial Gardens in Wetumpka. Pallbearers will be his grandsons Chris Freeman, Alan Sheffield, JoJo Wilson, Jared Wilson, Tyler Bailey, Mason Sanford, Hudson Sanford, Jason Bailey and Chase Sanford. Honorary pallbearers will be the Wayne Davis Sunday School Class First Baptist Church of Wetumpka, life- long friends JC Raley and John Gober.
The family expresses heartfelt thanks to Dr. Tom Wool and his staff for the loving care that provided us many more years with him. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church of Wetumpka Building Fund, 205 West Bridge St., Wetumpka, AL 36092.
