David was born at home on June 25, 1952, to Gordon "Allen" Stephenson and Emmie "Irene" Stephenson, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Smith.
He was a devoted husband to his wife, Stacy, for over 53 years. The couple would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on December 13, 2025.
A proud and loving father, David is survived by his daughters, Michelle Barrett (Cade) and Rachel Cochran (Steve), and his cherished grandchildren, Zachary Wiseman and Sara Cochran.
He is also survived by his brother, Gordon Stephenson (Leslie), and sister, Adelaide Morris (Chuck).
David retired from Thompson Tractor in February 2025 after 19 years of dedicated service. He was deeply respected by his coworkers, many of whom became lifelong friends.
He was a faithful member of First Assembly of God in Montgomery and a man whose quiet strength, work ethic, and kindness left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
David’s life was guided by his love for his family, his devotion to his faith, and his unwavering integrity. He will be remembered for his warmth, humility, and the countless ways he helped others without seeking recognition.
