Dixie Leota Brannan, a beloved, gentle, and hard-working woman, passed away on October 26, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on October 3, 1938, in Alabama, Dixie was a lifelong resident of Montgomery, Alabama.
Dixie was the cherished daughter of the late Bush Threadgill and Callie Leota Threadgill. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Don Brannan. She is survived by her son, Paul Brannan, and daughter-in-law, Charlene Brannan; her daughter, Reba Brannan; and her grandchild, Finn Brannan.
Dixie was a graduate of Massey Draughn Business School and had a successful career at Colonial Mortgage Company before retiring from the Alabama Commission on Higher Education. She was a long-time member of the Eastern Meadows Church of Christ and found joy in game shows and reading her Bible.
A visitation for friends and family will be held at Leak Memory Chapel, located at 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama, 36109, on October 29, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Chapel Service will take place at the same venue on October 30, 2025, at 11:00 am, with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eastern Meadows Church of Christ or St Jude's Children Hospital. The family extends their gratitude to the caregivers of Right at Home for their compassionate care.
Dixie will be fondly remembered for her dedication to her family, her community, and her faith.
