Mrs. Doris Mitchell Greene

Doris Mitchell Greene, 98 passed away on Monday, October 1, 2012. Doris was born in Atlanta, Georgia and has been a resident of Montgomery for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband Hamp H. Greene, Jr. Doris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Montgomery and for many years taught the 3 & 4 year old Sunday School Class. She was a special friend to all the children in her neighborhood. Survivors include her son: Hamp H. Greene, III MD and his wife Ginnylu of Montgomery; Granddaughter: Clarke Sanders and her husband Joel of Montgomery; Grandson: Hamp H. Greene IV and his wife Colette, of Birmingham; Great Grandchildren: Hunter Rothfeder, Trent Sanders, Maggie Greene, Lanier Sanders, Kaylyn Greene, Ally Sanders, Elizabeth” Lizzie” Sanders, Hamp Greene V.; Special friends: Ann Edwards, Betty Jo Cantrell and Janie Green. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her faithful daughter in law Ginnylu; and her caregivers for the last 7 years: Debbie Reynolds, Tisa Sankey and Tammy Moss. A special thanks also to Wick Many MD for his attention. Private graveside services for family will be at 11 am (EST) Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Marseilles Cemetery in West Point, Ga. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Wolf officiating.
