Doris Evelyn Sullivan, age 90, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023. She is survived by her sons; Michael W. Sullivan (Frances) and John Patrick Sullivan (Joy); three grandchildren, Andrew M. Sullivan (Kenan), Aubree Sullivan Carpenter (Keelan), John Robert Sullivan (Ashley); two great grandchildren, Griffin Carpenter and Phoenix Carpenter. Mrs. Sullivan was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Webster Sullivan; her siblings, Henry Houlton, Bobby Houlton, Ruby Mellors, Mamie Moye, as well as her parents, John and Rosa Mead Houlton.
Mail carrier for the Grady area, Doris was born in a log cabin and lived there until she was 18 yrs. old. She enjoyed canning and cooking for her family, adored her grandchildren and delighted in her roses and azaleas. An active member of Vaughn Park Church of Christ in Montgomery, she will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the staff of Country Cottage's Magnolia house, especially Michelle Bergeron for their compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be shared with Baptist Hospice, Montgomery, Alabama or Dublin Cemetery Fund, 203 Huffman Rd., Grady, AL 36036.
Pallbearers will be John Robert Sullivan, Andrew Sullivan, Pat Sullivan, Mike Sullivan and Ralph Cothran.
A graveside service for Doris will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Dublin Cemetery, Huffman Rd., Grady, Alabama 36036 preceded by a visitation at 10:00 am in adjacent Dublin Community Center. Steve Phillips officiating.
