Dorothy Howard Montgomery

Dorothy Howard Montgomery, 87, a resident of Sellers, AL passed away suddenly Monday, May 20th. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Hill Baptist Church, Bethlehem, AL with the Rev. George King officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Bethlehem Cemetery. The family will receive guests at the church from 12:00 p.m. until the service begins at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Rudolph Montgomery. She leaves to cherish her memory: three daughters; Diann Causey (Jim) of Lapine, AL, DeeDee McGhee (Cliff), Lapine, AL, Debbie Swift (Austin) of Cary, NC, one sister, Helen Bell of Lapine, AL, four grandchildren; Ashley McGhee, of Lapine, AL, Sara and Austin Swift, of Cary, NC, Jacob McGhee (Sheila) and two great-grandchildren, Michael and Emily McGhee of London, England, two nephews Mike Bell (Debbie) of Chattanooga TN, and Danny Bell of Lapine, AL also, her beloved Pomeranian, Gizmo, and her devoted caregiver, Willie Mae McGhee. Pallbearers will be Jim Causey, Mike Bell, Joe Morris, Hotshot McGinty, Joseph Eiland, and Ron Pernell. Honorary pallbearers will be Cliff McGhee, Danny Bell, Jacob McGhee, and Austin Swift. Dot loved to travel and bowl. She was a member of the Does in Venice, FL. and the Easter Star in Montgomery, AL. as well as a long-time vendor at Montgomery Curb Market. She was a loving and generous Mom, sister, grandmother and friend. She will be missed.
