Eleanor Jean Blackburn Helms passed away on August 16, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Jean was born on January 5, 1938 to Hillery Oran King and Lillie Mae Patterson King. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Harold King, one daughter, Pam Delaney and two wonderful spouses; her 1st husband of 26 years, Freddie Thurston Blackburn with whom she traveled the world while he was in the United States Air Force and her beloved 2nd husband of 26 years also, Jessie Ray Helms with whom she became an instant mother to 5 grown daughters and several grandchildren upon their marriage in 1982. She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Pauline King of Mobile, Al., four daughters, Theresa (Alvin) Bryant, Nanette (Johnny) Stinson, Debra (Eddie) Ingram, and Shirley (Steve) Bazzell, sister-in-law, Ida Lou Helms, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home in Montgomery, Al. with the Reverend Ron Davis officiating and White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home directing.
