Ernest Charles McDuffee

Ernest Charles McDuffee, 87, a resident of Montgomery, died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on April 1, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Dewey and Ruby Christine, and sister Norma McDuffee Burkett (Harry). He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty; his three sons, Michael Dennis (Rhonda), Douglas Kevin (Rhonda), Patrick Brian (Alice), and five grandchildren, Megan, Hampton, Merritt, MaryCollin, Colton and nephew Paul Burkett (Shannon).

Charles was born in Warrior, Alabama on July 12, 1934. After serving 2 years in the U.S. Army stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, Charles worked for the U.S. postal service as a rural mail carrier for 38 years. Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with graveside service to follow in Greenwood Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.

The family would like to thank Answered Prayer Home Care Services and Amedisys Hospice Care for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Dalraida Baptist Church.
