

Flossie Mae Henderson Cherry, 84, of Montgomery passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2012. She was born and raised in Porterdale, Georgia and came to Montgomery to attend Jones Business College. She graduated as a stenographer. She met and married Alton Cherry and worked for Hollywood Candy Co. while having children and being a faithful and loving wife and mother. She and her husband were owners on Cherry’s Produce on the Southern Bypass and Perry Hill Rd. and she then owned Cherry’s Produce at Frazier Church on the Atlanta Highway until she retired. She was a family oriented and God loving woman. She was preceded in death by her parents: Henry and Willie B. Henderson; Husband: Alton Leonard Cherry; Daughter: Belinda Mae Cherry Montgomery; Sons: Leonard Alton Cherry, Jr. and Patrick Marvin Cherry; and her grandson: Jeffrey Marvin Cherry, Brother: William Henry Henderson, Jr. and sister Darlene Patillo. She is survived by her Daughter: Vickie Ann Cherry Gray of Montgomery; Son: Glenn Argile Cherry, Honorville; Brother: Robert Henderson of LaGrange, GA; Grandchildren: Codey Earl Cherry of Montgomery, Christopher Gene Montgomery of Millbrook, Jennifer Beville of Calera, Alecia Mae Gray Esparza of Clanton and Winter Marie Cherry Powell of Fort Walton Beach, FL; and 11 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, November 15 at Leak Memory Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Friday at Leak Memory Chapel with Rev. Cliff Stever officiating.
