

His visitation will be held Friday January 29, 2016 at 10 am with funeral service scheduled at 11 am
at Leak Memory Chapel.
George is preceded in death by his parents, George Kimmel Swain and Pauline Hubbard Swain, beloved wife Joan Lee Swain, daughter Susan Swain Kramer (Ron Kramer), sisters Joanne Swain Hall and Judith Swain Atkins. Survivors are his son Mike Swain (wife Jacquelyn), granddaughters Mallory Elizabeth Swain, Hanna Lee Swain and Grayson Rose Kramer, grandson Justin Tyler Kramer, his sisters Brenda Swain Tyson (Russell), Beverly Swain Marshburn (Bud), and brothers, Lewis Gray Swain (Patsy) and Michael Edward Swain (Melissa). Also, many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
George attended Fairview UMC when he could and was a devoted follower of Frazer UMC’s televised worship every Sunday morning. Dad was prayerful and committed to his daily devotionals. More than anything he was a shining example of God’s example and love for all of us.
He was a devoted husband, who loved and took care of his wife Joan until her passing in 2012. He was a loving son and devoted father. He was a coach of young men in baseball and established the first organized youth team in West Montgomery. He was a proud member of the United States Air Force, and achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He also had a career as a civil servant, in support of the troops. He had a warm smile and open heart to everyone he came to know.
