Helen Reid Figh

She is preceded in death by her husband, John N. Figh Sr. whom she married in 1958.

She is survived by her children, John Figh Jr., Susan (Lynn) Jones; grandchildren, Taylor (Hannah) Jones, Lauren Jones, Olivia Figh, Alexa Figh; great-grandchildren, August Jones and Eleanor Jones.

She attended Sidney Lanier High School and Huntingdon College where she earned a degree in Education. She later earned a master’s degree from Troy University.

Her career was spent teaching others in elementary schools in Montgomery and Prattville. She found pleasure in watching others learn.

Helen loved flowers and reading. She was a devout Christian and lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Montgomery where she actively volunteered to help others through the Caring Center. In her spare time, she enjoyed sitting on her back yard patio enjoying nature. She also enjoyed traveling.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Caring Center in Montgomery.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Helen will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at 10:30 AM at Oakwood Cemetery, Montgomery, AL.
