Herbert Loyd Blair, USAF Maj. Ret., 92, a resident of Elizabethtown, KY and formerly of Montgomery, AL, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021. He was born in Vine Grove, KY to the late James Sylvester Blair and Lucy Atcher Blair.
After retirement from the United States Air Force, he started his second career in real estate. Herb enjoyed traveling and some of his trips included Tokyo, Hong King, Taipei, and many cities within the U.S. Herb was also a Mason and Scottish Riter, belong or have belonged to: TROA, Hero’s of ’76; National Sojourners.
He was a longtime member of Stovall Methodist Church, Radcliff, KY and Frazer UMC of Montgomery, AL.
He is survived by his loving wife Freda Blair; children Maronica Blair Goad, Richard Montgomery Blair (Rebecca) and Chadwick Dean Blair (Angela); step children, Janet Gray, Deborah Stowe and David Kinser (Tara); grandchildren, Caroline (Kyle) Sain, Melanie (Joey) Valekis, Richard Montgomery Blair II (Angela), Crystal Rogers (Eric); 27 great grandchildren; step grandchildren, Robert Holman (Jaime), Jessica Casswell, James Thomas Gray (Sherly), Stacey Stowe, Rebecca Whitaker (Joey); siblings, Edith Ernspiker, Melvin Russell Blair (Jan), Stanley Blair (Peggy); sister-in-law, Peggy Blair.
Pallbearers will be Joey Valekis, Eric Rogers, Kyle Sain, David Kinser, Robert Holman, Richard Montgomery Blair
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Greenwood Cemetery Dr. John Ed Mathison officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his first wife Joyce Morgan Blair.
The family will receive friends at Leak Memory Chapel from 10:15 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
