Ina Anderson Hightower

Longtime Montgomery resident Ina Wynette Anderson Hightower passed away November 1, 2022. She was preceded in death in 2005 by her husband of 56 years, Charles William Hightower, a veteran of the Navy in World War II. She is survived by her three children Cathie Huffman (Clint), Barbara Larson (Alan), and Charles A. Hightower (Amy), her eight grandchildren, and her 19 great grandchildren.

Ina was born in Sellers, AL, graduated from Pintlala High School in 1944, and earned a Business Administration degree from Auburn in 1948.

Ina performed volunteer work at her churches. She started the Flower Ministry at First Baptist to arrange and take flowers to shut ins. She sang in the choirs at First Presbyterian, First Baptist, and the Speeders choir at Frazer Methodist. Ina was active in the St. Andrews Society and served Meals on Wheels.

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 10:00-11:00 am at Leak Memory Chapel 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109. The graveside ceremony will be at Bethlehem Cemetery, 13956 Butler Mill Road, Lapine, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Pioneers Ministry, where her grandson is a missionary in Peru (Acct # 111199, 10123 William Carey Drive, Orlando, FL 32832) or Meals on Wheels.
