Jackie Chambers

Mrs. Chambers was born on May 2, 1931 to Sarah Doris Walker and William Bascomb Webb in Bessemer Alabama where she grew up. She met her husband Canty P. "Zip" Chambers of Columbus, Georgia at Auburn University. They were married at Auburn and traveled the world thanks to the US Air Force. Upon her husband's retirement the family settled in Columbus. Jackie earned her real estate/broker license and sold real estate for 25 years. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. After living in Columbus for 38 years, she moved to Montgomery, Alabama to be close to her daughter, Leanne Cornwell.

Jackie is survived by her children, Leanne Cornwell (Larry) of Montgomery, AL, Steven Webb Chambers (Janice) of Fort Walton Beach, FL, and David Warren Chambers (Beth) of Grand Prairie, TX. She is survived by 7 grandchildren, Patricia Cornwell Miller, Melinda Chambers Baker, Brian Cornwell, Martha Chambers Paris, Kathryn Chambers, Kenzie Chambers, and Bryce Chambers; 6 great grandchildren, William Miller, Kinley Anderson, Brody Baker, Wyatt Paris, Haven Cornwell, and Kacie Cornwell; and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, "Zip" Chambers; her parents, Sarah Doris and William Bascomb Webb; and sister, Ann Webb Passmore.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your local animal shelter or Amedisys Hospice of Montgomery, Alabama.

A Visitation will be held Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Leak Memory Chapel in Montgomery, Alabama. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 1:00pm at Epworth United Methodist Church, 2400 Devonshire Drive, Columbus, GA 31904, led by Reverend Tony Crosby. Burial to follow in Riverdale Cemetery, Columbus, GA.
