

James L. Barton (Jim), age 84, passed away on March 5, 2015. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Louise S. Barton. He is survived by his sister Rita Radford, his daughter, Chris Raycraft (Terry), and son, Lee (Ann) Barton; grandchildren Tony (Katharine) Raycraft and Emi (Chris) Hardeman; and great-grandsons Graham and Andrew Raycraft. Jim was recently blessed with Beth and Will Oakley through his son's recent marriage. He was truly a wonderful husband, daddy, granddaddy, mentor and friend.
Jim was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, graduating from North Fulton High School, then graduating from the University of Georgia. He was a member of Chi Psi fraternity, later becoming a Mason.
Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church on Thursday, March 12, at 11:00. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 for visitation.
